The equipment that we have is in good order. Tim reports that there will be a donation of $500 to the club which we can utilize to fill the holes in our kits as well as acquire additional items, like a wort chiller, that are in high demand.  The loaner equipment list is located under the Learn To Brew link on the home page of flopsclub.com.  If you have equipment to donate you can drop it off at the Home Brewery where the club stores its collection. We are looking for gaps in our inventory of equipment.  If you have a recommendation for a piece of equipment that you would like to see in the loaner kit please let a club officer know. Please be kind and return the kit promptly so others can utilize it.

Old Business

The St. Patrick’s Day on the Hill celebration was a bit subdued due to poor weather but several members did attend and we are happy to report that the winner of the homebrew stout competition was FLOPS’ own Robert Bacon.  Congratulations to Robert on his victory.  Well done.

Club Social.  A few members of the club met at Fossil Cove on Saturday, March 7th.  Thanks to those who could attend as the venue was changed at nearly the last minute due to an unforeseen suspension of service at Foster’s Pint & Plate.

Jason Wright reports that the t-shirts are ready to be ordered based on the decisions made at the previous meeting.  A dark gray short sleeve shirt was chosen.  It will feature the current logo which can be found on flopsclub.com.  A question was raised regarding the location of said logo which resulted in a quick poll.  It was determined that the logo should remain on the back with a small version on the front left breast.  The price should be about $12 per shirt.  Those who order will probably get their shirts by the next meeting.

Apple Blossom ProAm – Katy Ginder and Mike Lenox will serve as judges.  Marcus indicated that he will not be available on April 25th so the judges will determine the date of the judging.  Entrants should submit three 12 – 16 ounce bottles for judging purposes.  Drop them off anytime before April 25th for storage.

Brewery Reports

Apple Blossom – Head brewer Marcus reports that the Applewood Smoked Belgian Stout is coming back soon.  Looking forward to the upcoming club competition.  They are working on collaborations with most of the breweries in the state. New Business

We will be implementing the Brewer of the Year point system to encourage increased participation in club activities. Sign up on the attendance sheet to gain credit each month.  Participation at club events will also garner points.

Club Social – April’s social will be held at the West Mountain Brewing Co on April 4th at 3 p.m.

Katherine McGraw invites any interested members to join those of us heading to the Boulder Strong Ale Festival at the new Avery Brewing Co. facility on April 4th.

Dave Gillespie suggests that we have a mentoring program. Keith Lynn indicated that the concept is already in effect to some degree but no formal list of mentors has been created. Please contact an officer if you are interested in mentoring. Alan Gann mentioned that we used to cover mentoring in a fashion with brew ins but that tradition has fallen to the wayside.  If you are willing to host a brew in please contact an officer or post it directly to our FaceBook page with the details.
