  • Kevin Elsken paid for this year’s club insurance. Chris Abel will reimburse Kevin for the expense from club funds.

Subcommittees

  • Club awareness
    • James Harvey is working with Experience Fayetteville to get FLOPS info into the Fayetteville Ale Trail booklet. They would like to cross-promote on Facebook.
    • The AHA brochures that James Harvey ordered have arrived. They have a 2″ x 3″ location for placing a sticker with club information. Kevin Elsken brought samples of what could go in that space.

New Business

GiveCamp NWA

  • Greg Newman found this organization, which creates websites for non-profit organizations. Keith Linn put together some information about the club’s website needs, Kevin Elsken submitted it, and they accepted it. Kevin Elsken committed to a $200 donation from the club.
    • Greg Newman said they would appreciate the club bringing some kegs of homebrew to share.
    • Kevin Elsken will coordinate a meeting between interested members to meet and decide club goals for the website ahead of time. Greg Newman, Ric Bailey, Keith Linn, Kevin Elsken, Chris Abel, and Ben Farhner volunteered.

Miscellaneous

  • Discussed the need to change access to the Facebook group, Google Group, etc. when officer transitions occur. Keith Linn made a motion to continue the discussion offline, Greg seconded, and the motion was approved by a vote.
  • Discussed starting a FLOPS barrel project to complement the OZ barrel project. A survey of members present showed sufficient interest to move forward. The club will need to determine who would house the barrel, which style to brew, and other logistics.
  • James Harvey shared that the Shiloh Museum, where he volunteers, is interested in doing a historic brewing event similar to what the Historic Arkansas Museum does.
  • The Historic Arkansas Museum typically does their historic brew days on a Friday, but if there is sufficient interest from the club, they would be willing to move it to a Saturday or Sunday to accommodate the group.
  • Discussed planning for the Christmas party. Randy Germann is on the Christmas party committee for OZ and proposed doing a combined Christmas party between the two clubs. This would be a cost to the club of around $300. Kevin Elsken made a motion to combine parties, Keith Linn seconded, and the motion passed with a vote.
