David Johnson started the meeting at 7:03 PM with a toast by Keith Linn.

  • Brewer of the Month: Ty Weston
  • Beer of the Month: Ty Weston’s Black IPA
  • Ass of the Month: Daniel Stubblefield (absent)

Beers were introduced and an intermission taken to sample the beers.

Old Business

Dues

  • Membership dues are due! Members should see Chris Abel to pay their dues.

Iron Brewer

  • Q4 2025: Belgian Dark Strong (26D), judged on February 21, 2026
    • 1st place: Ken Gill
    • 2nd place: Ben Farhner
    • 3rd place: Steve Offut (OZ)
  • Q1 2026: Vienna Lager (7A), due April 16, 2026 at FLOPS
  • Q2 2026: Irish Red (15A), due July 7, 2026 at OZ
  • Q3 2026: Rauchbier (6B), due October 15, 2026 at FLOPS

Chili Cook-Off

  • Tom Maddock won 2nd place with his burnt ends chili.
  • Doc Farmer won Most Creative with his green chili.
  • Randy Germann shared there were about a dozen entries, great variety, and good turnout.

King for a Day Event

  • March 21, 2026, setup 10–12 AM, serving 1–6 PM
  • Ice is provided.
  • FLOPS tent and jockey box will be available.
  • Ben Farhner is bringing his own setup plus 2 extra taps for FLOPS members to use.
  • Members can still bring beer for the Jack award even if they haven’t signed up yet.

Women’s Shelter Home Brew Event

  • April 18, 2026, 12–4 PM at Bentonville Brewing.
  • Prizes are still pending.
  • There will be catering for brewers and staff.
  • Members should contact Justin McGinnis directly via email or Facebook to sign up.

The Art of Home Brew Showcase

  • May 16, 2026, 4–7 PM in downtown Siloam Springs

Miscellaneous

  • Patrick Bohannan has some expired Imperial Yeast packages that are available for free to pick up at Black Howler.
    • He can also order any Imperial Yeast variety for members that want to order through him.
  • Keith Linn mentioned a new brewery going in off of Highway 12: Arkansas Trails.
  • The Fermentary Public House is now serving their own beer.

Hop Schedule

  • James Harvey was absent.

    • 2026 event info is not live yet but it is typically in June

Barrel Project

  • The barrel project has been going since 2021. The last pull was in December 2025, and the next swap is coming up on June 6, 2026.
  • Members should contact Doc Farmer if they are interested in participating.
  • Recipe for 5 gal:
    • 10 lb Vienna malt
    • 0.5 lb Special B malt
    • 0.25 oz Liberty hops (4.3% AA) for 60 min
    • US-05 yeast
