  • Marcus from Siloam Springs, recently moved back from Springfield, MO

Beers were introduced and an intermission taken to sample the beers.

  • James Harvey brought the AHA flyers and Kevin Elsken brought the FLOPS stickers for members to assemble during tasting
  • Kevin Elsken discussed the flaw in Tom Maddock’s Doppelbock during tasting

Christmas Party

  • Sunday, December 7 at 2 PM at The Fermentary
  • Main dishes will be provided and sides will be potluck. Members should sign up here to bring an appetizer, side, or dessert. Members can also bring beer to share.
    • There will door prizes, trivia, dirty Santa beer exchange ($15+), and possibly karaoke. There will also be a comparison of the winter warmer ales brewed at Black Howler and fermented by members.

    • No winner from FLOPS or OZ this year

    Subcommittees

    • Website migration and update
      • Greg Newman offered to lead a user training session for the officers who are responsible for updating and maintaining the website.
    • Club awareness
      • AHA brochures are here! Members added FLOPS club stickers to the flyers during the meeting. Flyers were divvied up to members to be taken around town to various breweries and to Anuway.
    • Volunteering
      • Kevin Elsken opted to save this for the next president to address.

      • Entries are almost full

    • Arkansas State Fair
      • The club is looking for someone to wrangle entries from FLOPS and OZ for the Arkansas state fair next year in order to get more local beers entered.
      • Randy Germann is wrangling for Little Rocktoberfest next year
      • David Johnson is wrangling for HAM Hop-Off in Little Rock next year
    • David Johnson shared that now is the time to think about brewing for Blue Bonnet in January
    • James Harvey shared about a beer festival happening in January or February 2026 in association with Wright’s Barbecue. They want to be “Benton County’s Frost Fest” and there is an opportunity for FLOPS to have a tent there.

      • David Johnson was nominated, and motion to approve his nomination was seconded and approved by vote
    • Vice President (open)—David Johnson is stepping down as VP from both clubs
      • Ty Weston was nominated, and motion to approve his nomination was seconded and approved by vote

    • Social Media Chair (open)—Ric Bailey is stepping down
      • Alex was nominated, and motion to approve his nomination was seconded and approved by vote

    Miscellaneous

    • Kevin Elsken proposed the Christmas party as the next club social event. A motion was made to accept the proposal, which was seconded and approved by a vote.

      Meeting closed at 9:04 PM, opening up to GODS, the Greater Ozark Drinking Society.
